ASPLC Elective Courses
ASPLC offers a wide range of elective courses which are not required for the CLC credential and that are designed to further students’ coaching knowledge and skill set beyond CLC certification requirements. ASPLC electives are included in the CLC credential package and may also be accessed by non-CLC students at any time on a pay-per-credit basis ($45 per credit). Elective courses are delivered via our online Global Classroom and are accessible worldwide to all who wish to participate. All courses include course materials and are delivered in 4, 2-hour Global Classroom sessions over a two-week period.

The Art and Science of Positive Psychology (10 Credits)
In this workshop, students learn about positive psychology which is the science of thriving. Having studied thousands of thriving people, positive psychologists have identified the key components to a thriving life. Participants learn the key scientific components, the primary tools used by positive psychologists and experience these tools themselves through guided practices during the class. Join us for this powerful 4-part series. Course reading materials are provided (2 credit hours provided for completion of course materials). Mastering the Mind: The Mindfulness Coach’s Toolbox (10 Credits)
In this workshop, students learn about the science of mindfulness, the mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations. Used by meditation masters and Harvard trained physicians, mindfulness practices are recognized as deeply effective methods of stress reduction across the globe. Participants in this workshop learn the key scientific components, the primary tools used by mindfulness experts and experience these tools themselves through guided practices during the class. Advanced Transformational Listening Skills (10 Credits)
In this workshop, students learn about Advanced Transformational Listening Skills. Transformational Listening is a tool developed by ASPLC founder, Dr. Elliott Rosenbaum, that quickly and powerfully changes the way we listen to other people. Using the science of mirror neurons, participants learn how to shift what others are able to achieve in their minds through how we listen to them. CLC students will further their Transformational Listening skills to an advanced level in this course. Join us for this powerful 4-part series. The Valued Self in Action (10 Credits)
In this workshop, students learn how to deliver the 5-Steps to Healthy Self-Esteem in the Valued Self Book by Dr. Elliott Rosenbaum. Students learn how to help others identify their core values, personal mission statement and most fulfilling life goals. Particular focus is paid to shifting a client from an external locus of value to an internal locus of value, giving people a sense of freedom and independence from what others think about them. Along the way, participants practice the process on themselves. Join us for this powerful 4-part series. The Essential Self in Action (10 Credits)
In this workshop, students learn how to help clients discover and connect to their “Essential Self” as described in The Essential Self Book by Dr. Elliott Rosenbaum. Students learn how to help others identify their “Music,” what they most love doing as well as the power of shifting our self-definition from our body and ego to our spirit. Along the way, participants practice the process on themselves. Join us for this powerful 4-part series.
